Playboy Hailed As Great Literary Art - June 21st 2003

Critics have hailed the famous men’s magazine ‘Playboy’ as a major piece of literary art despite many people objecting to its content. The magazine, which is famous for its blend of articles and naked women, has been shown to responsible for a large increase in the number of teenage and young males who are reading.

“You can say what you want about the magazine,” one critic said, “but if Playboy didn’t exist some adolescent boys and men wouldn’t read at all.”

Men in the age bracket 16-24 are one of the groups least like to sit down and read. Computer games, the Internet and Television have all been blamed for this slump as they are considered to be most attractive to men in this age bracket.

“My Keith didn’t used to read at all,” one mother told us, “He would spend all afternoon watching kids TV before logging on to the net at 6pm to frag all his mates at Quake 3 and Counterstrike.

“But the other day I walked into his bedroom and caught him sat on the bed opening a copy of Playboy. He tried to hide it from me but I saw what it was. I didn’t say anything; I just pretended I hadn’t seen anything. I guess he was probably just a little bit embarrassed I had caught him doing something uncool.”
