Comic #40 : "Slacktivism"
Wednesday 22nd May 2013
Praying when there is a disaster is the analogue version of the Facebook like. It makes you feel like you have done something to help when in fact you've done nothing helpful at all, except help yourself feel better by kidding yourself you have done something.
Don't pray, or like or hashtag and feel like that is fulfilling your responsibility. If you want to claim you have done something, do something that manifests in real action.
If a search and rescue team find a child alive in the rubble, it's not because you were praying, it's because those rescue workers were searching for them.
