Comic #75 : "Life As A Female Vlogger"

I've wanted to do something on the issue of the social media threats made against women for a while but I couldn't find the right angle. I started a few comics but they didn't quite get the tone or message right.

However, on a recent video by one of my favourite female YouTubers someone had left a comment along the lines of "You are my new celebrity crush" - I soon realised the whole issue of being a female vlogger was a double edged sword. While they are discussing geek culture, without bringing up the issue of feminism, they receive hundreds of messages from guys who develop crushes on them.

But if a girl interested in geek culture starts discussing the issue of female representation, it turns from being misty eyed adoration to being full of hate.

By the way. To people in the future going back looking for hidden comics inside comics. This was the first one.
