Comic #63 : "New Category Of Device"
Monday 15th July 2013

When Apple released the iPad it did really irritate me that they referred to it as a "new category of device" when it was technically identical to the iPhone, just in a bigger format.
However, just because that state is a huge turd of marketing bullshit doesn't mean that a "bigger iPhone" is not a useful thing. The larger screensize of a tablet does enable it to do things that a smaller screen cannot, so those criticising it for just being a 'big iPhone' as just as wrong as the Apple guys claiming it's something new and magical.
It's not the first time I have done this joke, either, switching an o to an a like Apple did with iPod and iPad. See my Microsoft Xbax article I wrote when the first iPad came out.
