BREAKING NEWS: Random Perspective Editor Admits To Plagiarism - April 1st 2004

In a shock turn of events, Random Perspective Ben Dickson has admitted to plagiarising all his work from other news satire sites.

“It’s true,” he explained to himself in an exclusive interview, “All this work is stolen. I never wrote any of it, I just logged on to my favourite satire sites and copied and pasted.”

The news left has left his audience stunned, although many of them had been oblivious to his pretence to operate as a one-man band.

“When I left the comments saying that this site sucked, I assumed I was talking to whole group of people,” one visitor explained, “I never realised that it was meant to be run by one guy. However, it turns out he doesn’t suck after all – it was all those other news satire sites he’s ripping off.”

Ben Dickson has refused to divulge which sites he has ripped off, but his claim would indicate that this article too has been stolen from somewhere. However, the most pressing question was why it has taken him so long to admit to stealing material from other websites.

The answer, he explained, was quite simple:

“For some reason, today seemed like the most appropriate day.”
