Dumped Boyfriend Rubbishes Claims that Guys are Less Committed to Relationships - May 22nd 2003
A recently dumped boyfriend expressed his anger at the female spin that girls are more committed to relationships then men are. After being dumped by his girlfriend of sixth months he had decided to make a stand for male commitment.
“I just don’t get it, I loved my ex-girlfriend and was fully committed to what I saw as a strong relationship and she went along and ended it all by dumping me. I’d hardly call that commitment.” The dumpee, Keith Wilson explained to us.
Although his ex-girlfriend, Olivia, was unavailable for comment it is understood that she had not had an affair, or found someone else, but had just grown tired of her lover.
“See what I mean,” Keith Wilson explained, “She could have at least had a reason like she was marrying Brad Pitt. I feel so stupid. Growing tired of someone is a stupid reason to give when you’re part of the gender that is pro-commitment.”
“I’d listen to her through thick and thin. When she was complaining about me not doing anything about my life and living in a dream world, or when she was just suggesting that I actually got on and did something. I paid full attention. I even occasionally bought her flowers.”
Keith Wilson is now understood to be lonely and depressed however he is optimistic.
“Well I think I’ll do a little sitting down, and a little standing up. I might round it off with some lying down but I don’t want to pack too much into a day; otherwise – what would I do tomorrow?”
