US Government Blames Fund Raising for World Water Problems - June 7th 2003
The US Government has condemned the ‘irresponsible behaviour’ of charitable causes that raise money for 3rd World Nations. They claim that because of their actions the world is now facing a huge water shortage crisis.
Areas affected include Mexico, India, the Arabian Gulf (including Iraq) and the United States.
The US Government claims that the reason the water supplies are running low is because of all the wells and pumps that have been installed in 3rd World Nations, funded by charities and Television promoted fund raising events.
“We all need water,” a US official informed us, “But soon I’m not going to be able to wash down my cars or fill up my swimming pool because some village in Africa has suddenly been provided with a fresh water pump. What the hell’s going on there? I’ve got no problem with them surviving, or even reducing their debt payments a little – but when it impacts on my lifestyle, it’s just not called for. Talk about gratitude.”
Scientists say there is no evidence that the water supply in Africa was in anyway connected to the water supplies in the problem areas at which point British Prime Minister jumped in to support his American Allies telling the scientists: “Show me evidence that there isn’t.”
George Bush has said that if charitable organisations want to help 3rd World Nations they should use the money raised to pay back the debts they owe to the United States as this would prevent the water situation from becoming any worse.
