Random Perspective Duped By Serial Hoax Artists - May 17th 2004

Random Perspective has been duped into believing the accounts of two serial hoax artists it emerged this evening showing that news sources even more legitimate than the Daily Mirror can also be sucked in.

Editor Ben Dickson was asked to step down by the website owner, who happened to be himself and will be taking over the editorial position whilst Ben Dickson works out the best strategy to re-employ himself.

A formal statement was made to the press:

“It appears over the 18 months Random Perspective has been established it has been consistently tricked by two serial hoax artists – Mr Chuck Hankman and Mr Keith Wilson. It appears that the two men have been giving official statements to our journalists for companies that they do not have any affiliation with whatsoever.

“The most recent example was this Saturday when Mr Hankman approached us as a representative from the Apple computer company – it turns out his statements were entirely invalid. Mr Hankman has given us exclusive insight for various companies from Disney to a US Marine claiming to have the heads of Saddam’s Sons on his wall.

“Mr Wilson has been equally devious claiming to be a child Chess Prodigy one month and Princess Anne’s dog psychologist the next.

“The revelation that they are serial hoaxers certainly explains their elaborate careers. We hope that our understanding of this will allow people to accept start accepting the validity of our news stories once more.”

Random Perspective has commented that it will treat any future claims from Mr Hankman and Mr Wilson with a little more suspicion and will investigate them before using them as sources.
