Following on from the anti Arab article Robert Kilroy-Silk wrote for the Sunday Express the TV Presenter and former Labour MP stood by his remarks insisting they were not racist.
His article voiced an attack on the Middle Eastern civilisation asking what positive effect the Arabs had done for the world other than supplying oil, and claimed they comprised of suicide bombers, woman repressors and limb amputators.
However, after less than a week the Arabs instantly proved Kilroy wrong when the BBC suspended his show with the intent of cancelling it.
TV Critic and Political Commentator Keith Wilson was quick to point out the significance of this development:
“Robert Kilroy-Silk’s attack asked what good the Arabs had done for the modern civilisation aside from bringing us oil. Well due to his article they have now caused his appalling TV Chat Show to be cancelled.
“People will always argue whether the other things Arabic people have brought the world – from oil to Islam – have had a positive effect on the world or not. But one thing I think we can all agree is that the suspension of Kilroy is a good thing.”
