Overwhelming Public Support for War - March 6th 2003
In a sudden change of opinion public support for war in the United Kingdom has drastically changed from cynical, critical stance on Tony Blair to complete and total support.
“To be honest, I just getting bored of it now. It’s been dominating TV for over 6 months now and I’ve got fed up with it now. Every week we get a ‘Iraq: Britain Decides’ program on TV and several documentaries about what war would involve I’ve just got fed up with it now. I want my TV to return to normal. They should just go to war and get it over and done with.” One person told us.
“Last week they cancelled a repeat of ‘The Making of: Doctors’ to broadcast a special program on Iraq. Last time they showed it I missed the first five minutes and I really wanted to see them this time around.
“If it goes on for much longer they might end up cancelling ‘Doctors’ itself, or maybe even Eastenders.” Another person complained.
“I personally think that the ‘Peace Process’ part has become too convoluted for average viewer. The French are going to veto it? Or maybe they won’t. What about the Russians? Maybe they will maybe they won’t . That’s simple enough but you don’t hear about the Chinese. They’re obviously going to add a huge twist on the situation. I think it’ll turn out they are secretly helping the US. Or maybe the twist will be that the USA will veto it – no one would be expecting that.”
