Tory Gains Explained as Labour Postal Votes get Mailed to Random Perspective HQ - May 11th 2003
The mystery of Tory gains in the local elections last week were explained when several thousand postal votes for Labour Candidates turned up in the Random Perspective mailbox Saturday morning.
“I have to admit I was surprised when the Royal Mail lorry turned up at the HQ,” website editor Ben Dickson explained whilst interviewing himself, “As the only fan mail we ever receive tends to be from credit card companies or holiday dealers.
“Of course, this discrepancy was explained when I opened all the mail to realise they were all votes for Labour Candidates. It seems that the British population hadn’t lost their marbles and the Tories had got in by default.”
He then paused and realised what he’d just said:
“Hang on, votes for Labour? Maybe they have.”
