The Ulster Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, an animal welfare group, has condemned the Discovery Networks for filming the death of popular wildlife expert Steve Irwin and deliberating whether or not to make it publicly available.
“This is absolutely appalling,” the USPCA spokesperson Keith Wilson declared, “I mean it was only a few days ago that a twisted individual decided to film himself biting the head off a mouse and distributing it to thousands of people over YouTube.
“Over two thousand people watched the death of that animal purely for their own entertainment.”
“But now a TV network has filmed the death of a person – not just a mouse – and is currently considering whether or not they should broadcast it to millions of people for their entertainment. Excuse me? If we got mad about a mouse being killed by some sicko who bit a mouse’s head off in his bedroom then we are surely going to be super pissed off if an entire corporation considers doing something similar with video footage of a person being killed by a stingray.
“This is surely obvious by our equally apparent opposition that is just as clearly visible across the news media.”
